Privacy Policy

Congratulations

Seriously, congratulations on actually clicking through to read a privacy policy. You're taking the time to learn about how we store, collect, and use information that we do not have on you. Which is refreshing, because most people just blindly accept whatever terms they're given.

Here's The Deal

Look, I don't collect your data. I don't process your data. I don't want your data. I'm not a data processor - I never was a data processor, I never wanted to be a data processor, and if you're looking for someone who processes data, you're in the wrong place.

What I Don't Do

I don't track where you go. I don't know what you click. I don't care what browser you use. I'm not building some creepy profile about you to sell to advertisers.

What Happens If You Contact Me

If you email me or fill out a form, here's what happens:

  • I read it (probably)
  • I might write back (if it requires a response)
  • I remember you contacted me (like a normal human)
  • I'll likely delete the email eventually, but maybe I won't

Here's what won't happen:

  • I won't put you on lists
  • I won't sell your email to anyone
  • I won't run a surreptitious email marketing scheme

Cookies and Whatever

Look, this website lives on Squarespace. They have their own privacy policy for the basic hosting stuff. I can't control what they do, but I'm not asking them to do anything weird with your information.

They might stick a cookie on your browser to make the site work. I didn't ask them to, I don't control it, and honestly I don't really understand it. But I'm not using it to follow you around the internet like some digital stalker. Although I reserve the right to post affiliate links if I want to, which means someone else will track you if you click on the link.

Analytics? Well, Maybe Sometimes

Okay fine, sometimes I check Google Analytics to see how many people actually visit this site. But I'm not doing anything creepy with it - I'm just checking basic numbers. It's like looking out the window to see if anyone's walking by.

Conclusion

That's it. That's the whole privacy policy.

Got questions about this privacy policy? Email me at info@govoversight.net. I'll actually read it and may even write back.
